To participate in the Scheidt Seminar, you must acknowledge that:

You are the president or president-elect of your Union for Reform Judaism congregation
You are the only participant from your congregation
This is your first time attending a Scheidt Seminar

As a participant in the Scheidt Seminar, you agree to:

Schedule your flight to arrive in Atlanta no later than 3:00 p.m., two hours prior to the opening session
Participate fully in every session
Submit a program/idea from your congregation for the Idea Exchange/Poster Session
Schedule your return flight to depart Atlanta no earlier than 2:00 p.m. on Sunday

Fees are $725 for a single room and $390 for a double (shared room).

The fees include room, meals, materials and airport transfers to and from the Atlanta airport.

Your only other cost is airfare.

Fees are partially underwritten by a generous grant from Rudi and Honey Scheidt.

In four short days you will:

Have a conversation with Union president-elect Rabbi Richard Jacobs
Engage in dialogue with the incoming Union chairman of the Board Stephen Sacks
Discuss solutions to everyday congregational problems
Explore Torah-based governance
Improve your leadership skills

Small Congregations Resource Fund

The Small Congregations Resource Fund (SCRF) provides limited grant subsidies to support the participation of adult members of congregations with 250 or fewer members at URJ sponsored events, which are for the purpose of providing learning opportunities and enhancing leadership skills.
Attendees are considered representatives of their synagogues and are therefore expected to share their event experience with their congregation to help create well-run and spiritually fulfilling congregational communities.
Both the applicant and congregation president’s signatures are required. (If the president is the applicant, another trustee’s signature is requested.)
Congregations are strongly encouraged to subsidize, to the best of their ability, applicant’s participation at this event.

The following additional information pertains to grant requests for participation at
the 14th Annual Scheidt Seminar, April 26-29, 2012 in Atlanta, GA

Grant applications must be received no later than April 5, 2012. (Grants awarded on a first come-first served basis)
The maximum grant amount awarded will be $ 200.00 (Applies to double occupancy only)
Applicants will be notified of their grant award after registering and prior to attending the program. A check will be mailed to the applicant approximately 4-6 weeks after attending the Scheidt Seminar.
