Whether writing a dvar
on a Torah portion, looking for guidance on Jewish ceremonies, studying
Hebrew, or seeking a community in which they will receive a warm
welcome, Jews and those who wish to learn about Judaism turn first to
the Internet, where all the world's resources are available with a few
keystrokes.
Of course, nothing will replace the ruach
of worshipping together, the warm embrace of friends at an oneg, or the
support and comfort the congregational family brings to a family in
mourning. Distance no longer defines what or how Jews connect with one
another, however, and with the ability to instantaneously send messages
to members, religious school parents, teens and visitors, how you
communicate with your various constituencies should change as well.
