Peachy and Mark Levy Youth Scholarship Fund

Through the generosity of Peachy and Mark Levy, a couple dedicated to Reform Judaism and the Movement’s youth, a limited number of Scholarship Discounts are available to ease the burden on families of young people from within the PSW Council with the cost of single, URJ sponsored, informal educational experiences, such as NFTY events, NFTY travel programs or URJ summer camps.

Funds are limited, distributed on a first come-first served basis and subsidies are not guaranteed for every applicant. Letters of Confirmation will be E-mailed to all applicant families following receipt of application detailing award status.

Requirements
  1. Applicant families must be members of URJ congregations in good standing within the Pacific Southwest Council.
  2. Applications must be used towards assistance to attend a URJ/Reform Movement sponsored youth program or event (Camp Newman has a separate application ).
  3. Applicant families must consider themselves to be in need of subsidy as funds are limited and not every applicant will receive one.
  4. Applicants must submit a completed application form according to instructions that follow (again, Camp Newman has a separate application).
  5. Applications must be received prior to a set deadline for the desired event.
  6. Applicants must hand-write a personal thank you note to the Levy’s upon receiving confirmation that a scholarship discount has been awarded.

Applicant Need
Scholarship funding is limited and scholarship discounts are now primarily available for families who consider themselves in need of assistance in sending their children to URJ youth events and programs. While proof of need is not required, families are asked to take into consideration their own need as compared to the need of others who may be planning on attending a particular event. Scholarship discounts will be made available on a first come-first served basis to those who consider themselves to be in need of subsidy on a per-event basis. Please note that even if an application is received by the deadline, there remains no guarantee that the participant will in fact receive a scholarship discount.
