RESOLUTION OF 23RD COUNCIL ON IMMIGRATION BILL

Your special committee appointed to consider the immigration bill now pending before Congress beg leave to report:

  1. We heartily approve the action thus far taken by those who have opposed such drastic immigration legislation as is foreign to the spirit of American traditions.

  2. We further approve continued opposition along this line.

  3. We recommend that the Board of Delegates on Civil Rights of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations be and they are hereby instructed to cooperate with representative organizations and individuals to prevent the enacting into law of certain objectionable paragraphs hereunto attached and marked appendix (A).

  4. We further recommend that a copy of this resolution be trasnmitted immediately to the President, the Senate, and the House of Representatives of the United States.
