The Membership Account Representative provides a high level of customer service to engage congregations in monthly membership collection. This position is accountable for developing and implementing procedures to ensure collection process continuity; ongoing accuracy of membership records and dues, and maintaining the overall integrity and reliability of URJ's membership management system.
position is in the bargaining unit, reports to the Director of Reform Movement Membership and works
collaboratively across multiple teams.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced customer service professional. In addition to excellent communication skills,
the ideal candidate should have strong organizational, analytical and critical
thinking skills. They must have a track record of successfully implementing
membership dues collections processes.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited
to the following:
in a process to charge and collect dues in a timely fashion.
billing process, including processing invoices, tracking payments, and
following up on the collection of outstanding receivable
In collaboration with
the membership team, providing the Director of Reform Movement Membership with
data-driven insights on membership.
Preparing and sending member
communications; assembling membership mailings; responding to member inquiries.
Other duties as
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
3+ years of excellent customer service experience, preferably in a
nonprofit membership association
2+ years of experience with membership collection
Ability to handle
multiple tasks, projects and priorities effectively and professionally with
exceptional attention to detail; easily adapts to changing priorities
Strong oral and written communication skills
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Accurate data entry skills
