This full time position is located in New York.
The URJ is seeking an experienced professional to join our team to play a key leadership role in defining, creating and implementing the strategies to support, grow and develop NFTY and the professionals who work with youth in the Reform Movement to lead to a larger number of young people participating in our youth activities.
A substantial focus of the work will be on supervising and supporting the externally facing NFTY staff. This position will take the lead in creating, coordinating and developing strategies and initiatives for program and professional development for the hub staff and other staff working with youth throughout our system based on the new URJ youth strategy (see related strategy summary document). This position will play a central role in developing and implementing the strategies related to collecting and analyzing data and pursuing grant funding. The position requires significant travel.
This position will work in conjunction with hub staff to develop, prepare and consult on programmatic initiatives.
This position reports to the director of youth engagement and works in close collaboration with the URJ Human Resources Department. The position directly supervises the associate director of NFTY and all NFTY staff.
Develop and implement strategies to supervise all externally facing NFTY staff; Recruit top professionals; Develop in-service professional development; Develop and ensure the highest quality learning and engagement programming; As part of the emerging youth engagement strategy, develop systems for supervision and mentoring of youth professionals locally, regionally and on the NA level. Begin to develop strategies and initiatives that will integrate youth professionals and adults working with youth throughout: URJ camps; URJ congregations; Other organizations. Develop strategies for setting goals and assessing ongoing progress based on data on the local, regional and NA levels.
