IT System Administrator

This full time position is located in our New York office.

The System Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and system maintenance Network resources. This person ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures follow organizational standards. 


·         Administer mission-critical infrastructure.

·         Provide technology support to members of the Help Desk team as an escalation point for unsolved issues.

·         Install new and rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.

·         Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.

·         Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.

·         Create and maintain Visio Network Diagrams and all supporting documentation. Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures. Contribute to and maintain system standards.

·         Research and recommend innovative approaches for system administration tasks, automated where possible. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.

Required Skills and Experience:

·         A minimum of three to five years of experience working within a small to midsize (or large) company installing, migrating and supporting MS Exchange 2003, 2010, and 2013; Windows Server 2003, 2008, and 2012; and Active Directory

·         A minimum of three to five years of experience working with VMware 4.x and 5.x

·         Understanding of LAN and WAN infrastructure

·         Mobile device management experience

·         Experience working with SAN storage
