Director, Annual Giving

The Union for Reform Judaism seeks an experienced development professional to implement and manage its annual fund campaign.

This position is based in NYC.

Position summary:  Reporting to the Chief Philanthropic Officer, the Director of Annual Giving will implement and manage a strategic plan to generate increased unrestricted support to the URJ. The incumbent will direct annual giving activities and programs to ensure appropriate cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies are implemented and that fundraising goals are met.  This is a new position and an exciting opportunity to creatively and strategically grow an annual giving program.
The Director will:
•    Plan and execute the Annual  Fund Campaign including solicitations, cultivation and stewardship activities
•    Implement and manage a comprehensive, integrated and effective communications and  solicitation program to increase annual fund participation
•    Develop strategies for the identification and solicitation of Annual Fund prospects and donors at all giving levels
•    Flag major gift prospects
•    Design and implement stewardship program to address donor retention
•    Cultivate partnerships with other departments across the URJ
•    Augment current giving circles and levels
•    Develop solicitation and reporting materials in support of annual fundraising efforts

Qualifications:  Solid project management skills and an ability to respond effectively to changing circumstances.  Strong knowledge of Raisers Edge software and social media applications.  Ability to organize and interpret data sets relating to goal setting, projections and results; Familiarity and comfort with complex data and donor management software platforms; Able to meet deadlines and produce highly accurate work with meticulous attention to detail.  Prior experience with annual campaigns is highly desirable.
