Reform Movement Calls on President Abbas to Bring Terrorists Responsible for Hadera Attack to Justice
New York, NY, October 26 In response to todays terrorist attack in Hadera, Rabbi Eric Yoffie, President of the Union for Reform Judaism, issued the following statement:
We fervently condemn todays horrific terrorist attack. We send our deepest condolences to the families who lost loved ones in the bombing, and our heartfelt sympathies to those wounded. After several months of relatively low levels of violence, to once again target innocent civilians engaging in their daily business is reprehensible. We urge all those committed to achieving peace in the Middle East to join us in condemnation of this attack.
Todays act of terror compromises the steps both Israels leaders and Mahmoud Abbas have taken toward reaching a just and secure solution for Israelis and Palestinians alike. We therefore call on President Abbas to swiftly bring to justice those responsible for the attack, and insist that he work toward a true dismantling of the terrorist infrastructure so that the region is safe and secure for all who live there.
