“RJ Insider’s Guide to College”— The Guide to Jewish Campus Life
Second Annual Edition Includes 2007’s Top 60 Schools Jews Choose

September 4, 2007—New York—What is the most popular public university with Jewish students? (The University of Florida, for two years running) What about the top private college Jewish students choose? (New York University, also for two years) Do you know ow your alma mater is ranked in the minds of today’s Jewish students?

With the publication of the “RJ Insiders Guide to College,” Jewish students will now be able to know where to find a Jewish home away from home and proud alumni will have one more reason to cheer on their school. This guide appears in the Fall 2007 issue of Reform Judaism magazine, the world’s largest circulated Jewish magazine, and was published in partnership with Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life and the Union for Reform Judaism’s KESHER College Department.

“This is the only resource of its kind available to university bound Jewish families and college students,” said Nicole Rand, assistant director of Youth Programs for the Union for Reform Judaism. “While there are countless magazines and guides on the perfect college experience, the ‘RJ Insiders Guide to College’ presents important information specifically for students looking to live Jewishly during their college years.” Rand, a University of Texas alumna, added that, “It is a source of pride to know my school ranked in the top ten.”

Created for high school and college students, the guide’s centerfold documents colleges by Jewish population – the top 30 private and top 30 public North American schools Jews choose. It also includes expert information on getting into top universities, why it is important to choose a Jewish-friendly school, finding Jewish-related scholarships and loans, and making the best of the college experience.

The guide can be used in conjunction with the annual US News & World Report college edition. While the US News &World Report ranks colleges by a range of educational criteria, the two page chart in the “RJ Insider’s Guide” offers ranking by popularity and provides bonus information on Jewish fraternities and sororities on campus, Jewish studies programs, and more about each of the 60 top schools.

The “RJ Insider’s Guide to College” is now available online with extra features including a Jewish Survival Kit and a Jewish college activist’s first-person experience at
