At MRJ's 42nd Biennial Convention held June
24-28, 2009 in New Orleans,
John Shalett was installed as MRJ's President. John has served on the MRJ Board since 1997
and served as MRJ's First Vice President for the past four years. He is a Past
President of Temple Beth Israel, Pomona,
CA (1985-87), where he and his
wife received the Crown of the Good Name Award in 1991. John is a member of
Congregation Gates of Prayer, Metairie, LA and Congregation Temple Sinai, New Orleans. He is the founding President of the Louisiana
Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and received their Distinguished
Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004.
