URJ Collects Donations for Deadly Southeast Tornadoes
May 1, 2011, New York -- A
series of deadly tornadoes swept across the Southeast last week, killing
hundreds and leaving thousands homeless.
The Union for Reform Judaism (URJ) is accepting donations for tornado relief
efforts and will work closely with our congregations in the affected region to
assure that funds are used where they are needed most.
To make a donation online visit www.urj.org/relief.
Checks can be sent to the Union for Reform Judaism (Attn: Tornado Relief), 633
Third Ave., New York, NY 10017.
Other than direct expenses (such as credit card fees), the URJ takes no
administrative overhead from relief funds.
We are not currently aware of needs for volunteers, however the Jewish
Federation of Birmingham recommends that those interested in volunteering
register with Hands on Birmingham.
