Registration is officially open for URJ Biennial 2017, taking place December 6-10, 2017, in beautiful, historic Boston, MA! You’re invited to join us for the largest Jewish gathering in North America, where 5,000 Jews from around the world will come together to engage in the work of reimagining Jewish life.

This year's Biennial is already shaping up to be one of the best ever! Where else can you hear from the winner of the prestigious Man Booker Prize for Literature (Eisendrath Award Honoree David Grossman), the James Beard Award winner for best chef in America (Shabbat luncheon speaker Michael Solomonov), enjoy the best in contemporary Jewish music, and learn from the most outstanding teachers in Jewish life?

What to expect:

  • Daily themes – Diversity, Innovation, Action, Faith, and Community – will shape each day’s worship, learning, programming, and more.
  • More than 140 all-new learning sessions (descriptions and presenters now online) in five intensive tracks: Strengthening Congregations, Tikkun Olam, Audacious Hospitality, Youth Engagement, and Transforming Texts (in partnership with HUC-JIR).
  • The Delegation Program provides group rates and more for your congregation to reap the greatest Biennial benefits.
  • Teen programming through NFTY and two opportunities for college students: a specially designed track and the URJ Biennial Ambassador Program.

Already announced speakers include: URJ President Rabbi Rick Jacobs; Reverend William Barber, a leader of the “Moral Monday” movement; award-winning author Anita Diamant; New York Times columnist Bruce Feiler; and renowned Jewish historian Jonathan Sarna. More programming is being added every day!
