The 2017 Had'rachah Seminar for Lay Leadership in Ritual Life will take place at the URJ's Olin-Sang-Ruby Union Institute (OSRUI) on August 2-6th, 2017.
The Had'rachah Seminar for Lay Leadership in Ritual Life is open only to congregational leaders from small congregations with no more than one full-time clergy member. The Had’rachah Seminar teaches participants a variety of skills to help them lead communal worship, lifecycle events and educational opportunities in support of or in place of clergy. Our faculty is composed of rabbis, cantors, and Jewish educators. Participants will learn from them, from URJ staff and from each other.
Costs to attend the Had'rachah Seminar will be posted on this page in spring 2017. Each congregation will be eligible for a Small Congregation Grant, to assist with costs of sending one lay leader to the seminar (if a congregation decides to send two lay leaders, only one participant will be eligible for a grant).
Registration for the 2017 Had'rachah Seminar will open on April 3rd, 2017. To receive a reminder when registration opens, please fill out our expression of interest form.
