Red Flag Rules

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) created the Red flag rules to help fight the growing threat of identity theft in the United States. The regulation requires that certain businesses--including non-profits, churches and synagogues--create a written program to identify "red flags," or events that may be a sign that someone is attempting to obtain information about someone for the purpose of fraud.
