Successful Congregational Shavuot Programs

Many URJ congregations have Shavuot-related programs listed in the Communicate! program bank.

Visit Communicate! and search "Shavuot" to find more programs like these, or submit your own by sending an email with the program summary to communicate@urj.org.

Family Shavuot Program
Temple Beth Emeth (700 households), Ann Arbor, MI
This Shavuot celebration combined educational, social action, community and religious components. Families played games, sang songs and engaged in a text study.

Living Torah
Temple Brith Achim (272 households), King of Prussia, PA

The Living Torah program highlights the restoration and rededication of two of our Torahs. Just as important, it also encourages our community to participate in Torah study and embrace Torah as part of their lives.

Tikkun Leil Shavuot
Temple Emanuel (500 households), Greensboro, NC

We partnered with a neighboring congregation to create a fun, highly attended Tikkun Leil experience. The evening began with a movie screening and was followed by learning tracks that encouraged discussion.

Voice of Ruth
Temple Beth El (237 households), Flint, MI

As part of our Shavuot celebration, our Sisterhood sponsored a panel discussion by five congregants who had chosen Judaism.
