Congregational Websites & Lists

TRANSFERRING OWNERSHIP OF ACCOUNT (for Union hosted sites only)

For current owners:
If you are no longer responsible for your congregational website, you will need to provide information of the new person resuming the responsibility. To transfer ownership of an account to another person, please send an email to webmaster@urj.org. Please include the following in your email:

  • Simply state that you will no longer be responsible for the congregational website
  • Account ID (eg. ny001)
  • Full name of the new person and his or her email address
  • Copy (CC:) the new owner in that email

Also, please request that the person familiarize him/herself with the information with our Congregational Websites and Lists website.

For new owners:
If the previous owner can not be contacted, simply have the new owner send the email to webmaster@urj.org with the following:

  • Simply state that you are taking over responsibility and ownership
  • Account ID (eg. ny001)
  • Your full name
  • Copy (CC:) the email to the previous owner (if you don't know, simply ask webmaster@urj.org)

UNSUBSCRIBING FROM URJ-WEB

There are three ways to accomplish this:

MOVING CONGREGATIONAL WEBSITE OFF UNION SERVER

Email webmaster@urj.org stating the move and include:

  • Account ID (eg. ny001)
  • URL of new site
  • Request a redirect page if one has not already been created

The following occurs when a congregational website is no longer used:

  • Account is removed from record
  • Website access information is reset
  • All files are backed up and removed off account (with exception of redirect page and until another congregation takes the space)
  • Congregational webmaster on record is removed from urj-web-admin list.
