Debbie was my youth group leader in 1972-73 at Temple Emanuel, Chicago. She was hardly older than we were.
She was an amazing,
talented, charismatic, funny, and loving person, and we adored her. She taught
us to sing and to be joyful in our Judaism. Singing her songs in the synagogue
always brings me back to those days. My friends and I treasure our time with
her so many years ago, and her memory will be a blessing for all of us. Her
music will continue to inspire and move us, and we will remember her with love
and gratitude.
