Debbie Friedman's music, her use of folk music to tap into Jewish spirituality, inspired me on my own spiritual journey.
I grew up with "classical reform" music at Baltimore Hebrew Congregation in the 60's and 70's and loved, it but when I heard Debbie's music, it got into my heart and made my soul leap with joy. Her music was able to inspire children, teens and adults alike. I was grateful to hear her live at Temple Emanu-el in Dallas a number of years ago and was looking forward to seeing her again in April 2011. Her voice and spirit will be greatly missed.
