Michael Linder, Temple Kol Ami - Emanuel, Plantation, FL

Debbie has had a profound affect on the role of Judaism in my life. This started with what was billed as a "spirituality workshop" held at my temple at least 10 years ago. On this occasion, she taught me that the words we sung did not necessarily tell the whole story; it had other dimensions. The song reached into my heart, my soul, my guts, never to leave me.

Anyone who experienced a Debbie Friedman concert knew it was more than a performance. It was an affirmation of all that is good in humankind; it was a confirmation of our Judaism and its ability to survive; and it was an opportunity for us to express unbridled joy and love.

My debt to Debbie never can be repaid. I do feel better knowing I am not alone in this.
