I grew up in Houston at Congregation Emanu El. I grew up on Debbie's music.
The spiritual connection
she gave all of us with her music cannot be overstated. She had a unique gift
for giving every one of us a voice in prayer and I cannot thank her enough for
it. She came to Emanu El for a Hanukkah concert when I was in high school. A
friend of mine had just been hospitalized and when I heard her sing her words
of healing, I cried. It was is if she was singing it directly for my friend. I
will never forget how her music has touched me through the years. Rest in
Peace, a true woman of valor.
