Pam (Salsburg) Williams, Temple Beth Jacob, Atlanta, GA

As a high schooler in the late 1970's, I was active in NFTY. Besides enjoying the social life, I was most attracted to the original jewish music by Debbie Friedman and others. It kept me spiritual. It kept me wanting to know more about Judaism. Where was she taking her lyrics from? What did the selections truly mean? Now a Mom of twenty somethings and teenagers, and affiliated with the Orthodox movement, I still love and appreciate Debbie Friedman's music, and I thank her for helping me grow in my Judaism.
