Jacob Persily, Temple Rodeph Torah

It is difficult to fathom the fact that Debbie Friedman is no longer with us. As a percussionist, I see the true scope of Debbie Friedman's music on the music of Reform Judaism. Playing Debbie's music on this Shabbat, Shabbat Shira, a Shabbat in song, will be very difficult. Learning a new song of Debbie's which we will be performing on Friday brought me to tears numerous times this week, and I am so thankful that Debbie's Funeral was broadcast online, so that those of us on the east coast could join the the mourning and memorial of this Jewsih legend.
