Gail Smiley Heppen, Midway Jewish Center, Plainview, NY

I grew up through the Reform Youth Movement on Long Island and spent my summers at Warwick in the late 1960's.

As a songleader, I was well aware of the power of music in reaching to the very depths of a person's soul and making bonds between people that would last a lifetime. Debbie Friedman gave us all a gift of her music through the decades and her music is her legacy that will remain with us for years to come. She touched us in so many ways and we will continue to honor her by keeping her music alive.
