Grants Available for New Orleans Volunteer Trips
The Commission on Social Action has funds available for grants to congregations planning volunteer trips to the Gulf Coast for youth or adults. These funds were made possible by a generous grant from the United Jewish Communities and the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles. If your congregation is considering such a program, please go to www.urj.org/csa and click on our Gulf Coast Volunteer Website for grant information and application form. You will also find on that page a "how to" guide for planning such a program, sample itineraries from other congregational trips and a list of organizations accepting volunteers. For more information, contact our Manager of Congregational Relations, Naomi Abelson at nabelson@urj.org.
There is still a great deal of need in the Gulf Coast, and volunteers can make a big difference. Please consider taking a congregational group to the region!
