Religious Action Center's Environmental Program Bank


Environmental Programs from NFTY's Program Bank:
  • Ecology in Action (3.73 MB) Participants are divided up into lobbyists and legislature to learn about lobbying for environmental regulations.

  • Environmental Education Program (189.95 KB) A program intended to provide a very basic environmental education on topics including: pollution, ozone, endangered species and recycling.

  • Introduction to Environmental Lobbying (237.06 KB) A comprehensive program to learn about different environmental organizations and the obstacles against regulations.

  • Eco-Expo, An Environmental Fair:  Hold an environmental fair, complete with “green” exhibitors, eco-focused art and “green” prizes.
  • Green Team: Congregation was challenged by the rabbi to raise environmental awareness and promote participation in greening efforts amongst congregants.
  • Global Warming: A Forum: Opportunity to educate your community and show them how to advocate on pressing environmental issues.
  • Adopt a Highway: Pick up litter with your local Department of Transportation. 
  • Recycle Monster: Religious school classes can build a large container "monster" where individuals can deposit recyclable cans and bottles.
  • Sukkot Family Outing: Host an outdoor study session on a theme related to Sukkot and the Environment for the adults and teenagers.
  • Atzim Chayim: On or near Earth Day, plant trees on your congregation's property in honor of different members of your community.
  • Green Sanctuary: Congregations can become environmental education centers.
  • Environment as an Ethical Issue: Host a panel of environmental professionals.
