Bio
Dr. Paula Brody is the Director of Outreach Programs and Training, Reform Jewish Outreach Boston. As a professional on Union for Reform Judaism staff for the past 24 years, Paula has consulted to clergy, educators and lay leaders in Reform congregations on a wide range of topics pertaining to intermarriage and conversion to Judaism. She currently coordinates Reform Judaisms Outreach initiatives in greater Boston, funded by a grant from the Boston Federation, Combined Jewish Philanthropies. Paula has developed and facilitated numerous cutting edge training programs in her role as Director of Bostons Outreach Training Institute, including the 2006 national Reclaiming Mikveh conference offered in partnership with Mayyim Hayyim Community Mikveh and Education Center and 33 national and local organizations.
Paula is a founding and current Board member of Mayyim Hayyim and an Honorary Trustee of Temple Israel, Boston. She has served on the Strategic Planning Initiative of Combined Jewish Philanthropies of Greater Boston and participated on the planning committee for CJPs 2005 Bostons Community Survey. She is also a past Trustee of Bostons Beth Israel Hospital (now Beth Israel Deaconness) and the Rashi School.
Paula holds a doctorate in Education from Boston University, with a specialization in Adult Learning and Media Technology and a Masters in Social Work degree from the University of Michigan, with a specialization in marriage and family life issues.
Paula and her husband, Merrill Hassenfeld, are the proud grandparents of Gabby and Molly Keen.
