Jews who apply Torah learning to our lives at home, in school, in business, and in social interactions

Take to heart these instructions with which I charge you this day. Impress them upon your children and recite them when you stay at home and when you are away; when you lie down, and when you rise up. (Deuteronomy 6:6-7)

Yose Ben Yoezer of Zeredah...said, Let your house be a meeting place for the wise; sit humbly at their feet; and, with thirst, drink their words. (Pirkei Avot, 1:4)

Talmud Torah K'neged kulam/But the study of Torah encompasses them all--The study of Torah offers the knowledge of what is right and how to live justly. Jewish study includes the expectation that the lessons will be applied to life. (Mishkan T'filah, pg 44)

Regarding the 2nd quote. I'd love to see more classes and study groups taking place in homes rather than classrooms. I'll never forget the experience of studying in the home of one of my great teachers from HUC, Dr. Michael Meyer. Studying at Dr. Meyer's home added a dimension of warmth and intimacy that the classroom simply could not replicate.
