The Summer Learning Institute brings together adult Jewish learners
to experience in-depth study, spiritual renewal and personal growth.
Deepen your knowledge and learn techniques in one of three areas of
congregational life: engaging in serious Jewish study, welcoming interfaith couples and families into your community, and facilitating and supporting
worship and life cycle rituals.
The Summer Learning Institute, by serving individuals, enriches
Jewish life and strengthens home congregations and communities. Couples
and friends are encouraged to attend the Institute together while
participating in different programs. Well be together at many meals and

The Schindler Fellows for Interfaith Certification will prepare lay leaders to create a welcoming environment that supports, educates and programs for interfaith couples and families. Now in its twelfth year, the Schindler Fellows Program for Interfaith Certification will prepare you to work in partnership with your rabbi as you explore the issues of interfaith relationships, find positive solutions to difficult challenges learn how to engage and support interfaith couples and families and encourage Jewish choices in their lives.
The Hadrachah Seminar is designed to teach lay leaders a variety of skills to help them support communal worship, lifecycle events and educational opportunities. Participants in the Hadrachah Seminar may use these skills in various waysby serving a congregation that has no clergy; by working in an assisted living facility or adult community; or by assisting their congregational clergy.
Housing
We have reserved a block of sleeping rooms - both single and
double - at the Kingsgate Marriott
Conference Centre at the University of Cincinnati, which is located in close
proximity to the Hebrew Union
College-Jewish Institute of Religion. We have also reserved a limited number of sleeping rooms in the
Hebrew Union College dormitory. All dorm rooms are single occupancy and include
single beds, a shared bath, and linens/towels. Please note that handicap
accessible rooms are only available at the Kingsgate Marriott.
If you are planning to drive to the Summer Learning Institute or
rent a car at the airport, overnight parking at the Kingsgate Marriott is and additional $10/night. Parking at the Hebrew Union College is free of charge. Daily
transportation will
be provided between the hotel and Hebrew Union College.
