Building Sacred Community: Volunteers in Your Congregation - Description
"The
task is too heavy for you: You cannot do it alone." Exodus 18:18
Please join us for this one hour webinar
designed to help congregations, their boards, leaders, staff, clergy and
members understand how to build a sacred community one volunteer at a time.
Every volunteer experience within our synagogues is an opportunity to build
sacred connections and offer meaningful engagement. Learn the nuts and bolts of
creating and sustaining a culture of volunteer engagement. Our webinar leaders
will take you through the process of creating a volunteer program, including
everything from identifying volunteers and volunteer opportunities to training and
thanking and recognizing your volunteers.
Our presenters, Susie Amster, Executive Director of Temple Beth Sholom in Orange County, California, Karen Hoffman, Program Director of Temple Emanu-El in Dallas, Texas and Vice President of Program Directors of Reform Judaism (PDRJ), and Debbie Joseph, Union Governance and Leadership Development Specialist work together to teach Reform congregations how to create sacred connections through volunteer engagement. Their learning session at the recent Union Biennial in Toronto had over 300 participants and was a huge success.
