Model Seder Volunteer or Volunteer Role Model? Exploring Parent-School Relationships - Description
Our school directors and committee chairs are always asking how to get parents more involved. If you are a school professional or volunteer leader, join this webinar to challenge your thinking about parent involvement and engagement. Learn from Dr. Renee Rubin Ross' doctoral research and apply her findings to your own setting. Take home a worksheet to facilitate this same discussion with your school committee and staff.
Together we will explore different ways of thinking about, analyzing and working with the complex relationship between parents and their children's schools. Dr. Ross will share rubrics that emerged from her dissertation research involvement in a Jewish, a Catholic and an independent private school. This webinar will be facilitated by Union Adult Learning Specialist Wendy Grinberg, RJE.
Dr. Renee Rubin Ross is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the Mandel
Center for Studies in Jewish Education at Brandeis University. Dr. Ross
holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in history from University
of California, Berkeley, a master's degree in Jewish Education from the
Rhea Hirsch School of Education at HUC; and a doctorate in Education
and Jewish Studies from New York University, where she was a Steinhardt
Fellow.
