March 13, 2012 - Torah Alive: Esther's Fast - Her Act of Self-Empowerment

In the story of Purim, Esther develops from one who is without power or influence to a saving-the-day heroine. Together we will study why fasting was a transformative act for her, as we learn more about this well known narrative.

Led by Adult Learning Specialist Joan Glazer Farber with guest Rabbi Mary Zamore.  

Rabbi Mary L. Zamore is the editor of The Sacred Table: Creating a Jewish Food Ethic (CCAR Press, 2011) and currently serves as the associate rabbi of Temple B'nai Or of Morristown, NJ. Rabbi Zamore was ordained by Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in New York in 1997.
