    District of Columbia -

    Temple Sinai in Washington DC as well as Temple Shalom in Chevy Chase MD are collecting old bikes for "Bikes for the World." Please bring your used bikes in good conditions and a $10 donation to help defray the cost of shipping the bikes to one of the following locations:

    Sunday, November 2, 10am - 11:30am Temple Shalom, 8401 Grubb Road (corner of East-West Highway), Silver Spring MD.

    Sunday November 2, 11am - 2pm Temple Sinai, 3100 Military Road NW, Washington DC

    Sunday November 9, 10am - 1pm Temple Beth El, 8215 Old Georgetown Road, Bethesda MD


    Maryland -

    Temple Shalom in Chevy Chase MD is collecting used bikes November 2, 2008. Details available above in District of Columbia Section.

    Temple Beth Ami in Rockville MD invites the community to The W.H.A.R.F.F. (Wellness, Health, Aging, Retirement, Financial Freedom) Expo on Sunday November 2, 2008, 10am - 4pm. Admission is free. Flu shots will be available for $25. You must pre-register for flu shots and blood donations. To register, please visit www.bethami.org

    Ohio -

    Congregation B’nai Abraham

    Congregation B’nai Shalom is the only Ohio synagogue in the Mid-Atlantic Council, other congregations in Ohio are within the Midwest Council, Northeast Lake Council, and Pennsylvania Council regions.


    Tennessee -

    B’nai Sholom Congregation is the only Tennessee synagogue in the Mid-Atlantic Council, other congregations in Tennessee are within the Midwest Council, Southeast Council and Southwest Council regions.


    Virginia

    Northern Virginia Hebrew Congregation in Reston VA invites the community for a musical celebration of Yiddish Theatre on Saturday November 1, 2008 at 7:30pm. The concert features Zalmen Mlotek, Cantor Robert Paul Abelson and Cantor Irena Altshul. A dessert reception will follow the performance. No reservation is required. A donation of $18 is suggested for attendance at the concert.
