Q. What is RJ WebBuilder 2.0?

A. RJ WebBuilder 2.0 was developed by Whole Megillah, built on the Joomla platform, a powerful Content Management System (CMS) which allows even the non- technical user the ability to create cutting edge interactive and dynamic websites.

Q. What are the system requirements for using RJ WebBuilder 2.0.?

A. There are no system requirements. One of the great things about RJ WebBuilder 2.0 is that it is cross browser and cross OS compatible. The only thing that you will need to create a great website is a computer with a web browser and internet access.

Q. Can I use my Mac to create/maintain the website?

A. Joomla is built on UNIX and is very Mac friendly. In fact most of the system was developed using Mac computers and with Mac users in mind.

Q. Can my temple keep their domain and email addresses if moving to RJ WebBuilder 2.0?

A: Yes. Your domain name and email addresses will remain under your control.  

Q. What features does RJ WebBuilder 2.0 offer?

A. Some of the features offered include:

• Dynamically changing URJ-supplied content that appears directly on your site.
• A powerful calendar tool that allows importing of your Outlook calendar events, and multiple calendars on your site that can be configured in numerous ways
• The ability to create usernames and passwords with differing levels of access so that you can delegate pages on the site to others to maintain.
• The ability to create password-protected areas of your site.
• Multiple blog integration - Build multiple blogs directly into your site.
• Mobile capability - RJ WebBuilder 2.0 uses the latest in HTML 5 and JavaScript to ensure that your site looks great across most browsers and devices.
• Donations and membership forms - Becoming a member of your congregation and donating to it just got easier with easy-to-use customizable donation and membership forms.

Q. What kinds of safeguards are built into the system for backup in case of server failure?

A. We have partnered with Whole Megillah to ensure a secure and redundant server environment. As our hosting provider Whole Megillah performs daily, weekly and monthly backups of our web and database server files. If for some reason your site fails it can be restored within 1 business day or less after contacting us.

Q. What parts of the template can we control?

A. Each template allows you to maintain flexible control over content layout, background colors and graphics. In theory almost any color and layout combination is possible though there will be some restrictions as to where the main navigation may appear on the site. Almost every component of the site that contains content is able to be repositioned and its background color changed without needing to know any HTML or CSS.

Q. Can we control the site navigation?

A. Yes. RJ WebBuilder 2.0 has a powerful menu system which allows you to build out your site in a way which is intuitive and specific to the needs of your organization. You can control how the menu is displayed and what links appear in it.

Q. Where is the URJ content?

A. Your new RJ WebBuilder 2.0 Site comes with built in dynamically displaying URJ content on certain pages. You are free to move the content around and delete it if you desire. However, we suggest you follow our recommended best practices when making your decisions. Guidelines will be made available soon.

Q. Who do we contact for technical support?

A As part of the RJ WebBuilder 2.0 service you have access to our Web Help desk Monday through Friday from 9am-5pm Eastern Time. We will be available to help you with any technical issues you might have and to provide you with training upon request. You may also visit our help site at urj.org/rjweb/help where you can submit a help ticket and join a community of webmasters like yourself.

A. You may sign-up at urj.org/rjweb/signup. We will respond within a few days after you sign up with further instructions.

Q. We don't want any of the URJ templates. Can we choose our own?

A. If you would like to customize your template or design a completely new one you may contact us for a quote.
