Small Congregations
SMALL CONGREGATIONS RESOURCE FUND

Grants

The SCRF was designed to support small congregations (250 membership units or less) at Union for Reform Judaism-sponsored events for the purpose of providing leadership opportunities and enhancing leadership skills. Attendees are encouraged to share their experiences with their congregations to help create well-run and spiritually fulfilling congregational communities.

Funds for the 2008-2009 program cycle have been awarded. Please check back in the Summer of 2009 to learn about funding for upcoming programs.

Loans

Small congregations may apply for five-year, low-interest loans up to $50,000. Loans are awarded by the SCRF Committee on a case-by-case basis. Funds have been used for:

  • Capital improvements
  • Building, facility renovation, or land acquisition
  • Hiring clergy and staff
  • And more!
