The current economic situation has implications for the financial health of our congregations and is impacting the lives of our members. Small congregations, in particular, may be vulnerable to changes in the economy. The Union has put together a number of resources that offer guidance to our congregations and support for our members.
They include a variety of ways in which we can reach out to our congregants during these challenging times. On November 12, the Union offered a webinar on Strengthening Our Congregations in Difficult Financial Times. Rabbi Stacy Offner, vice president of the Union for Reform Judaism, hosted calls with our presenters, Ed Alpert, executive director of Am Shalom in Glencoe, IL and president of the National Association of Temple Administrators, and Rabbi Edythe Mencher LCSW, associate director of the Department of Jewish Family Concerns. If you were not able to join us for our recent webinar, a video of the presentation is now online.
