URJ Resolutions on Global Poverty

The following resolutions seek to address issues of global poverty and the need for action on political, social, economic and humanitarian issues.

 

Resolution: Ending Global Poverty (2005)

The Union for Reform Judaism endorses the Millennium Development Goals as a critical step towards ending global poverty.

 

Resolution: The Need for Action in Sudan (2004)

The Union for Reform Judaism resolves to take efforts to put an end to genocidal activity in Darfur.

Resolution: Commitment to Africa (1999)
The Union for Reform Judaism reaffirms its commitment to the economic development of African nations and emphasizes the need for greater humanitarian assistance and appropriate intervention.
