Caring Community
The Caring Community Committee of the South District has been created in order to respond to the rapidly changing needs of the contemporary Jewish family and foster the continued development of synagogues as caring communities. The committee will assist in the development and implementation of district and congregational resources and programs, and will create district network affinity groups in areas such as: Mental Health, Resiliency Among Youth and Parents ( suicide, self inflicted violence, body image, substance abuse), GLBT Issues and Inclusion, Bioethics, Sacred Aging, and Disability Awareness. The committee will report to the South Districts Vice Chair for Jewish Values and coordinate with the URJ Joint Commission on Outreach, Membership and Caring Community.

Lifelong Jewish Learning
The committee will strive to increase knowledge of our shared Jewish heritage; to establish lines of communication throughout the South District and share best practices amongst member congregations; including, but not limited to: Early Childhood Engagement and Adult Learning; URJ Day Schools, NFTY , URJ camps, youth engagement and Israel programs.
