Synagogue Management

BOARD WORKSHOPS

Serving on a temple’s Board of Trustees and helping to govern the congregation provides an opportunity to contribute one’s skills, experience and knowledge to benefit the synagogue and the Jewish community that it serves. The Ida and Howard Wilkoff Department of Synagogue Management assists Synagogue Boards by offering facilitated day-long seminars and consultations that strengthen congregational boards in their role of building a Jewish community.

Depending on the congregation’s needs, a board workshop can focus on specific key issues, that include but are not limited to, rabbinic transition, crafting mission statements, long-range planning, leadership development or clarifying board roles and responsibilities. Additionally, specially designed programs are available to suit your congregation’s individual needs.

  • Union trained lay leaders serve as Board facilitators
  • Board retreats can be scheduled on a Shabbat or Sunday and last from 9:30 – 3:30
  • Pre-and post retreat consultations are available
  • Please contact us 12 weeks prior to your anticipated Board Retreat
