Rabbi Richard Address was ordained at HUC-JIR, Cincinnati in 1972 and received his D. Min.in1999 from HUC-JIR, New York. Rabbi Address has served the Union for Reform Judaism in several capacities. Following congregation work in California, he joined the UAHC (now the URJ) staff in 1978 as the director of the Pennsylvania Regional Council and Federation of Reform Synagogues of Greater Philadelphia. While serving as regional director, he was named in 1997 as director of the new Union Department of Jewish Family Concerns. This department, which defines its mission as the creation of “caring congregations,” brings together work in areas such as aging, substance abuse, self-destructive behavior and the impact of emerging medical technology on the lives of our members.

Morton Prager, Ph. D., served as professor (retired) at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, where he taught medical students and Ph. D. candidates while also conducting a research program focused on cancer problems. He published more than 100 scientific manuscripts and has lectured widely. He developed a course on science and ethics that has been taught at several universities. He has a long-time involvement in the Jewish community and currently chairs the Union for Reform Judaism Bioethics Committee.
