Why Green? The URJ West District is in a region that has long demonstrated leadership on issues related to climate change, energy and the environment. Examples include the Western Climate Initiative, the Rocky Mountain Institute, the Verde Xchange among others. Guided by our Jewish values which emphasize environmental stewardship, we can initiate steps by which our congregations can become role models for community action.
Whether your congregation's interest in environmental issues is just budding or has benefited from years of nurturing, we hope you'll find something of interest on this site and share your experiences with others.
For more information, contact Susan Keith, URJ West District Greening Committee Chair.
What do leaders think about the importance of environmental stewardship and what are their suggestions for engaging our congregations? Learn more with interviews from three leaders of the Jewish environmental movement.
