The Upper Midwest Community is quite a special place. Our 20 congregations spanning 5 states (plus Rockford, IL) share weather -- warm Summers, vibrant Autumns, sometimes non-existent Springs and the nastiest Winters you could want; a love of sports; and deep appreciation for Jewish living. Not only do our 2 major urban areas (Minneapolis / St. Paul and Milwaukee) support several large congregations, but we also have quite a few isolated small synagogues. It is a widely varied Community. Geography makes it challenging to do a lot of the things that most close-knit communities can do easily, but we hope to lead the way with technological solutions to these problems.
