Does a person who converts as an adult need to go through a "bar/bat mitzvah" to "count"? Patricia

When an adult converts, he or she is immediately taken into the community and does not "need" to go through any formal ceremony. As I have noted in the past, no formal ceremony is ever really necessary. That being said, there is nothing wrong with celebrating a conversion.
