We have a long-time board member who broke his leg and wasn't able to attend services for two months. One week we did a lay service at his house in addition to our regular Friday night service. We had almost 30 people show up at his house, and we all brought food for an Oneg afterwards. It was a wonderful experience for all of us. We have another congregant who's hospitalized. We're planning to hold a Friday night service at her house once she gets home, this one with the rabbi officiating. We're going to try and do more of these. It's a wonderful way to do a visit for someone who's sick.
