Same Sex Marriage and Commitment

  1. ...our congregation [is beginning] to discuss the following resolutions:

    The proposals are:

"It is proposed that the Congregation embrace the concept of Kulanu, meaning "all of us" as a welcoming acknowledgment that all families and individuals, whether traditional or non-traditional, lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgendered, are welcome invited to participate in the activities of the congregation and will be afforded equal respect and prestige within the congregational community,"

"It is proposed that the Congregation affirm their support of the civil rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered individuals (LGBT) as a policy to afford them full civil and legal rights as any other citizen of the United States, such as rights to include civil marriage, among others."

"It is proposed that the Congregation affirm their support in offering kidskin to all couples who seek the celebration and commitment of their relationship by the community."

It is unclear at this time what use will be made of an approval of the above, but one stated goal is to endorse and support a group called "Love makes the family" which is a lobbying organization for the legalization of same sex marriage in the State of Connecticut.
