Carlin Coffey has had a wide variety of heroes in her life, but if you were to ask her today, she would say Mack McClendon from the Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans. As a Mitzvah Corps of the South (MCS) participant last year, Carlin spent her summer rebuilding parts of New Orleans still damaged from Hurricane Katrina and being inspired by one man’s commitment to his city. Read more »

During staff training this summer at URJ Crane Lake Camp, the senior staff volunteered at the Community Garden, a source of produce for hungry families in West Stockbridge, MA. Camp George offers community-wide internships to senior staff so they are able to work at camp during the summer. They gain internship experience during the year that can applied to their work at camp.
