Part-time Youth Director for Temple Beth Sholom of New City, NY, a vibrant Reform congregation in Rockland County, NY.
We seek a high-energy, enthusiastic,dynamo to lead our senior youth group (grades 9-12), junior youth group (grades 6-8) and 45 Club
(grades 4-5).
Train teens to be future leaders, work with our youth board, work with younger and older teens planning and implementing social, social action and Shabbat
and holiday programs, and coordinate with our regional NFTY program network. Director will be responsible for teaching leadership and organizational skills
and reaching out to synagogue youth not currently involved with the youth group.
Job Requirements:
Candidate should possess the following skills and attributes:
possess knowledge of Reform Judaism and NFTY (URJ Camp experience a plus)
be totally committed to enjoying Judaism with our youth, be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
be friendly and possess an easy rapport with young people and enjoy working with teens and pre-teens
like mentoring youth and encouraging their growth and development
be willing to work cooperatively with our adult youth committee, Clergy and staff
have a car and live in Rockland County or have the ability to travel to Rockland County (40 minutes north of New York City)
have experience in planning religious services
have fundraising skills
