This Hanukkah, Join Us in Reimagining Jewish Life

December 16, 2016Rabbi Rick Jacobs

Remember celebrating Hanukkah when you were a child? Spinning the dreidel in hopes of collecting a handful of melty Hanukkah gelt wrapped in shiny gold foil? Or did the warmth and joy of Hanukkah draw you in later in your life?

This year, Christmas and Hanukkah come at the same time. For the many families in our Reform Jewish community that include partners and extended family of other faith backgrounds, this holiday season will include creative and inclusive ways to make sure that everyone’s memories are embraced in this thread of light.

The Union for Reform Judaism stands for an open and inclusive Judaism– and we believe there is more than one authentic way to be Jewish.

Through our 17 summer camps, our network of 900 congregations, and our signature social justice work, we help frame the meaningful Jewish moments of your life.

This past year, we engaged more than 20,000 Reform youth in our transformative programs, and more than 10,000 clergy, synagogue professionals, and lay leaders participated in our leadership training.

The URJ leads the largest Jewish movement in North America. No other organization in Jewish life has the breadth to build on our legacy while creating a strong and vibrant Jewish future.

We’re counting on you to help us advance contemporary and inclusive Jewish life with a year-end gift.Thank you for your continued generous partnership.

May the light of this holiday season shine on you and your loved ones year-round.
