With the midterm elections quickly approaching, we at the Religious Action Center want to hear about how your congregation is getting involved civic engagement work. Here are just a few of the ways you can get involved with the RAC this month – plus a few other updates of social justice work from around the Movement:
- Tell us about your congregation's efforts: The RAC's Civic Engagement Campaign is in full swing, and we've begun to hear about events that have taken place across the Reform Movement. If your Reform Jewish community is organizing an event for this campaign, please fill out the Civic Engagement Campaign Reporting Form to let us know what you're doing! We would love to celebrate your great work!
- Phone bank with us: Join us for a Reform Movement phone bank for Florida's Voting Restoration Amendment on Sunday October 21, 3-5:15pm. You do not have to be in Florida to participate. This November, Florida will vote on the Voting Restoration Amendment- the fourth-largest voter enfranchisement movement in U.S. history. The Reform Movement is partnering with the Second Chances campaign to bring our sacred belief in t'shuvah and atonement to the criminal justice system. Help ensure Florida voters re-enfranchise 1.4 million Americans this November.
- Bring a delegation to Consultation on Conscience: Registration for Delegation Leaders at the 2019 Consultation on Conscience (May 19-21, 2019) is open! The Consultation is the Reform Movement's flagship social justice event held over three days in Washington, DC. Attend the Consultation as a Delegation to receive additional materials, support and training. Sign up to be a Delegation Leader here and learn more about Delegations here.
