Whether you are looking for ways to innovate worship and music in your community or just love Jewish singing, join us for Hava Nashira 2021, the official Jewish worship and music conference of the Reform Movement.
For more than 25 years participants, ranging from beginners to seasoned professionals, have discovered new ways to build and strengthen their communities through music.
At Hava Nashira 2021, you’ll experience inspiring worship, a diverse repertoire, shared peer learning, and networking opportunities. Whether you work with tots, teens, families or adults, you’ll find resources and tools to enhance your program.
One area of focus for this year is on how the evolving nature of our community has impacted how we build sacred space and what new models for gathering and for prayer might be on the horizon. Another area of learning will be a dialogue for creating space for those in marginalized communities – how can our music and communal prayer spaces allow everyone to be seen and heard.
Sessions will be led by 30 presenters, both familiar and new, in a program planned and facilitated by professional musicians, clergy, and movement leaders.
Spread strategically over two weeks from May 31 through June 11 this all-digital conference will offer a stunning array of workshops from which to choose, including:
- Healing Rituals for the Times
- Early Childhood and Elementary School Aged Repertoire and Technique
- Leading and Teaching Music within Worship
- Technologies for a New Time
- Chant and Meditation
- Lifting up a New Generation of Songleaders
In addition, longer blocks of time will be spent digging more deeply into creating meaningful early childhood engagement experiences, building meaningful family and young adult education with music as a central component, and creating a new worship vision for these new times. These sessions are designed for individuals, as well as for small teams of professional and lay leaders to learn together and take the learning back to their communities.
At every Hava Nashira conference, tradition is celebrated, ideas are born, creativity is nurtured, and everyone leaves inspired and energized to take their home community on the next thrilling path of their worship journey.
